Old School: Dream Frequency – Take Me
Oct 22nd
Time for another old-school, mid-week dance track. 1992 was another fantastic year, and one that really started to see the Hardcore movement take over. The BPM’s started to climb away from the House tempo’s and this track from Dream Frequency’s One Nation album was one of those turning points.
I still remember hearing this at Rezerection in 1994, it nearly pinned me to the wall. Enjoy

Hip Hop Monday: Eminem – My Name Is
Oct 20th
I find it slightly ironic that Marshal Mathers jumping in to the lime light was my turning point for taking Hip Hop seriously again. Go figure.
After hooking up with Dr. Dre, Eminem burst in to action in 1999. The drought of catchy, chart topping rhymes had come to an end and Slim Shady had arrived.
This was his debut single taken from his first album on Aftermath, The Slim Shady LP. Enjoy!

Serato and Ableton
Oct 17th
For years people have tried to get Scratch Live and Ableton Live working together, and while they can, its not that straight forward.
I’ve just read on the Serato website that they’ve now become friends, so hopefully there should be some kind of new plug on its way!
“Ableton and Serato take different approaches to modern musical performance,” says Ableton CEO
Gerhard Behles, “But both companies live by the philosophy that software should be straightforward,
easy to use, and most importantly, reliable and stable onstage and in the studio. Ableton has never had
an answer for the DJ who wants vinyl control, and rather than try to emulate what Serato do so well, we
simply make sure that our products work well together.”
looking forward to it
